The student work you see here presents a general overview of various projects completed in courses I have taught. The courses range from Advanced Independent Studies (for example: totem pole carving) to Foundations (for example: material studies). You will find a wide range of materials and processes represented here: wood carving, wood construction, metal working, ceramic slip and concrete casting, cold bronze casting, figure modeling, plaster and encaustic casting, laser machining and 3D printing. The portfolio is intentionally not arranged in any particular order except for the last few images that document a special sculpture project to salvage, through casting in concrete, a wood carving of the St. Paul’s School mascot. The pattern preparation, mold making, and casting coordination of this project were handled by the students.
