All components of Sconce are wooden (including the power cord and heating element), and there are five distinct objects assembled together: heater, torso, box, pot, and Dragon Scale plant. The construction is mortise and tenon for the connection of objects while the arms have sliding dovetail joints. Gravity is significant as is the orientation of objects relative to each other. In a natural standing orientation this body posture implies weighing, choosing. Rotating it 90 degrees suggests a way to sustain the process, which supports clearly seeing the mind-body mechanism of attraction and repulsion. In this vertical stilling a seeking person might notice how mistaken identification as “doer of choosing” happens. The hand metaphorically reaches beyond the empty box and grasps the root ball.
