Tall Jewelry Cabinet

Jewelry Armoire (2026)

Materials: Cherry, Cocabola, Ebony, Sapele, White Oak, Ash

Dimensions: 58.5 x 15.5 x 14

This jewelry armoire is the third in a series of cabinets I have designed and built for that purpose.  This cabinet was made for exhibition at the Smithsonian Craft Show in April 2026. The dovetail-joined case material is American Cherry. The door is constructed with a bridle joint and has a quarter-sawn Cocabola panel with an Ebony pull mortised into the frame. The hinges are solid brass offset pivot hinges made by Brusso. The bottom three drawers also have Ebony pulls mortised into flat-sawn Cocabola drawer fronts that are integral to the drawer boxes which are joined with half blind dovetails. The interior drawers are quarter-sawn White Oak with half blind dovetails and Walnut pulls, and the top four are divided. The base design is constructed of Sapele and is full mortise and tenon construction. The base design floats the case half an inch above the six inch tall legs.
